2.11. // Gendernauts – movie

In combination with the release of GENDERATION, the second part of their story, we screen Monika Treut’s movie which was revolutionary at its time: The portrait of people in California who defy the idea that gender is binary. They use their bodies to mix up stereotypes, question the terms “male” and “female”, float through sexuality and gender identity like astronauts through space – and may even turn into cyborgs. Asked if they are man or woman, their answer simply is: “Yes”.
